Time to say goodbye
Time to say goodbye

Before starting my year when my flight to Peru was coming near, me and my friends decided to throw an party for us all to say goodbye.

I decorated my home with the german and the peruvian flag so everybody was clear where my journey would bring me. :)

Everybody brought food so nobody would feel left out or hungry xD.

After we all ate and chatted a bit they gave me a map with lots of cards from all of them so I had something to read on my flight.

After a few games and lots of fun and taking photos it was time to say goodbye.

Many tears dropped and we all promised to stay in touch but the most important thing was our joy to meet again in a year.

After I went trought the security check and set down on the plane my flight to Paris started. In Paris all the exchange student from Germany and some from France meet. We chatted the a bit until we could go to our flight to Peru.🛩 As we sat down our 14 hour flight should begin. In the plane I began reading the letters my family and friends wrote me. After all they were so sweet and lovely I started to cry a lot. Especialy when I read my parents letter which was to kind and lovely❤ After my excitedment catch me again I talk to my seatneighbour which was an ex-exchangestudent from France who went to Berlin for one year. She was super kind and so my flight wasn't as boring.

After long 14 hours of flying our plane finely arrived and my excitedment grow every minute to see my hostfamily which wrote me that they were there❤. With my two suitcases I went out of the airport and finally saw them 😍. They held up high a sign which said : ,,Bienvenida Katalin !''. We huged and talked a lot until our taxi arrived and we were driving to my new and lovely home.❤ The trafic here is chaotic but after 20 Minutes we arrived and I could see my room and everything else. I have a lovely room for myself which is very beautiful. My hostmother made me some food and after a little talk I went to sleep because I was so tired.😴

Exciting day
Exciting day

Today was a really exciting day. First we went to the Kennedy Park in Miraflores, Lima. In the park are many cats that aren't shy and like to be peted, so Claudia and I really wanted to go there because of your cats. After peting may cats and seeing a lot of cool shops with a lot of souvenirs we went to buy lunch ,,Pollo alabraza'' (chicken with fries) and took a short look at some rouins from the inkas. At home we ate and it was delicouse. With our hostmother, -sister and -father we decided to go watch the movie ,,Skyscraper'' in spanish.

At the big mall ,,Plaza de San Miguel'' we went to the movieplanet to watch the movie which is very good. I even understood something :).  After the movie we looked around the mall a bit and then went to the cost to watch the ocean and eat a little snack.

Arrived at home we went tired but happy about the great day to bed.

Buenas noches <3

Campamento Rotary
Campamento Rotary

From the 30 july to the 1st August was our orientation camp from Rotary. Imagen 70 exchange students from 12 countries  living in boungalos at a beach for 3 days. We had a lot to do ... after we arrived and the Rotary team gave us a nice welcome we had to write a spanish exame in which our spanish skills where tested so we can compare them later.

We played a lot of funny games, learned a lot and made a lot of new friends in just 3 days which is really amazing.

At the end we all took pictures with our flags and got our informations for the upcoming ,,Blazer night'' on Saturday, the 4 of august.

After stepping in the park we decided on which animals we wanted to see first so we went to see the penguins and sealoins.

After seeing a lot more animal we went to eat ,,Salcipapas'' ( saucage with fries) which super tasty. We went to see monkeys, panthers, leopards, llamas, alpacas and more.

We even went over a small see in a motorboat which was soo cool.

After heading home we took a short nap and started preparing our dinner.

From 1 pm until 3:30 pm on we started getting to be right on time at the Sherraton hotel were the Blazer Night should be.

After arriving a little bit late because of the traffic we meet all the other exchange students again but this time with all the peruvian outbounds from our district.

We were a lot of exchange students all excited for tonight so we started talking, exchanged pins and numbers until it was time for taking pictures together. It took us until 6 pm for everbody to take pictures together😅. When our parents and there familys + friends arrived we sat down at our tables and the night began. First all countrys were presented by walking in with there flag and singing there national anthem. Many speeches were held about Rotary, there inspiration and the theme for our exchange year. In between a famouse peruvian sang some national songs until the rotarians started giving us our oficial rotary pins for our balzer. After all these amazing and inspiring speeches were over it was time for the food.

When everybodys hunger was stilled the afterparty began. The DJ played a lot spanish music with a good mix of internacional songs. Everybody danced with everbody💃. We all had a lot of fun together while the peruvian students tried to teach us some salsa. At the end of the party it was 1:30 am and we all had to goo. Tired but super excited for our amazing exchange year. ❤Viva Rotary ! Viva Perú! ❤

Colegio
Colegio

So my first 3 weeks of school are over and I have to say it's defintly different from German schools. Most of the schools here are private schools which means you have to pay for them. I'm at the privat school ,,Mater Admirabilis'' a school for girls with a special view on the english language. School starts at 7:30 am and ends at 3:35 pm, ever lesson is 45 minutes long and we have 3 breaks in between them ( 2x 10 minutes and 1x 30 minutes). After the breaks we wait at the schoolground to get picked up by our teachers to go to our classroom (here the teachers switch the classrooms not the students). Also the subjects here are a bit different for example we have ,,Tutoria'' (on lesson in the week with our hometeacher to talk about stuff); ,,Tecnologia'' (where we design stuff or learn how to use different programs on a computer) or one of my favorite lessons ,,Danza'' (where we learn traditional peruvian dances from all landscapes). But there are also the same subjects as in Germany ,,Matematicas, Ingles, Lengua, Biologia, Quimica, Fisica, Fisica deporte'' (Math, English, Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical education).

Also there are many projects in each subject to show the girl how university works.

Schoolsystems are based from ,,primeria'' (primary) and ,,secundaria'' (secondary) and grades are based on numbers from 1-20 while 1 is the worst and 20 the best.

I'm in the last class 5th of secondary and will have prom in december. So afterwards I will go to university for half an year to study gastronomy where I will learn to cook peruvian dishes.😊

The girls in my class are super sweet and are willing to help me when ever I need it. ❤

Sooo thats all I can talk about whats interesting about school because to be honest school even in a different country isn't spectacular or more exciting.😂😉

First month in Peru!!!❤😄😄
First month in Peru!!!❤😄😄

2 days ago, was my first month in Peru over. 33 days ago I left my homecountry to start seeing the world and I'm so happy to be here. I would have never imaged meeting so many kind, sweet, adorable and nice persons in one month.❤

I did a lot of things like going to different parks, meeting new people, started school, meet with friends, went out to 2 partys, started having Marinera classes and said goodbye to the best hostsister you could have..❤

Peru is such a beautiful country with so many beautiful people that I can't be anything else than happy and very grateful to be here and too have at least 10 more months to be here and live a wonderful year with wonderful people in a wonderful new country that already has a place in my heart❤

So thank you Rotary International and my family in Germany and Peru and everybody else that will make my year a special time of my life for giving me this chance❤👍
